Sneekpeak of new work!
Working hard on my pieces for my upcoming show at Gallery360
on April 16th! Be prepared for a a larger scale – I am so pleased to
have taken this important step.
Talented and creative photographer Stephanie Pearo Dunn
took these wonderful pictures of me working, and my new pieces.
Make sure and see them in person at the Gallery!
Early Christmas present for me!
My piece ‘Old Soul’ made it into Minnesota Monthly’s ‘Best New Art 2016’ feature!
It is part of their January 2016 issue, and available at news stands now. I had to wait a while for news on this, and was only the more pleasantly shocked to hear that I had made it in! This definitely adds another layer of cheer to my holiday season!
Best of Show – thank you, Artistry!
So happy about this! At the opening reception for Artistry‘s 39th Annual Members’ Juried Art Exhibition in Bloomington on Friday, my piece ‘Youth1’ was awarded with ‘Best of Show’.
I wouldn’t say I work for moments like this one, but to hear juror and artists Jehra Patrick (program director for MN Artists) read out my name at the very end of the awards ceremony was a spectacular feeling. It just feels wonderful to be rewarded in this way for many years of working, persevering, applying, and being rejected just as often as being accepted. I feel honored and grateful for this award, and everybody’s support that got me here!
My opening reception at Gallery 360 on June 6th!
Very fun, very crowded show opening and 15th anniversary party at Gallery360.Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who came out yesterday to celebrate my first show opening with me, and also everyone who has supported me along my way to reach this milestone! I have 9 pieces in the show, and they will be on display in one of the front windows for a month, until July 5th.

20th Anniversary NE Art-A-Whirl this weekend!
And it will be a big one – it’s 20 years since that first open studio tour called Art-A-Whirl took place in artist’s spaces in NE Minneapolis. I had not even been to the U.S. at that point, but the more happy I am that I get to join in now.
I’ll be at the Grain Belt Bottling House again, and it’s going to be a party on Friday night with a band and cash bar, so that’s a good time to stop by. I will have newer works and, for the first time, prints of my sketches, matted and ready to frame.
Art-A-Whirl times are:
Friday, 5 – 10, Saturday, 12 – 8, Sunday 12 – 5
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Art-A-Whirl-Grain-Belt-Bottling-House/347723192016521?fref=ts
I’ll be there most of the time, and it is always great to see friends and wellwishers! Stop by if you can make it.

St. Paul Art Crawl this weekend!
That’s right, I’m in! I’ll be at Mickey’s apartment at Carleton Lofts for the St. Paul Art Crawl again, to show a few of my newer pieces. I will be there most of the time – send me a FB message if you want to make sure I’m there.
There’s lots of other wonderful art to see, hear and buy in this and the two adjacent buildings – definitely worth stopping by and wandering around. There will be live music and author readings at Carleton Lofts throughout the weekend.
And one more thing – if you are smitten with one of my pieces and want to buy it, I would like to ask you to wait until the NE Art-A-Whirl to pick it up. I will be showing there too, and have to have enough pieces to fill my space at the Grain Belt Bottling House. I will mark the piece you want to buy as sold.

In early June, I will have my first 5-foot show at Gallery360! I am working hard to create an all new collection of pieces that can’t be seen anywhere else before the show! You can catch a glimpse of one of them above – make sure and come to the show to see them close-up and in person. I am really excited about my new pieces and my new use of underglaze colors. Opening reception will be on June 6th – details to follow when it gets closer!
Hope to see many of you!

“Weal and Woe’ found a new home!
This piece, one of my most ambitious ones, sold a few weeks ago, just in time to grace somebody’s home for the Holidays. An early Christmas present for me as well! I put so much emotion into that face and I am grateful that it resonated with another human being.
